Wow! Can't believe it's been so long since I posted here! =} Time sure does fly, doesn't it?! Well, here's few things, kinda all together.

First of all, this Saturday is the final craft fair of the season for me. Come see me at Cleveland Elementary School's "Breakfast with Santa" - Saturday the 10th from 8-1 p.m.

Overstock Sale Granger!

I'm so excited to let you know that I will be at the Overstock Sale Granger this Friday and Saturday!

What it is - many of the "boutique" stores from around the area, as well as vendors (like me) will be displaying their wares at a central location. This is a way for them to get their names out, and sell their overstocked items at reduced prices. Great deals for everyone!

Friday evening's event is for "VIP's" - which means your name must be on the list to get in! But, it's easy - just let me know you'd like to come! =) Saturday is open to the public. There is no entry fee.

Times - Friday from 5-8 p.m. Saturday from 9-5.

Place - Toscana Park, behind the big new Martin's, in the former "Pages in Time" store.

Who - loads of vendors! Boutique stores from around the area will be displaying their wares!

Stretch-Lace Headbands

These have been a long time in the making, and I don't know why! I really am excited to be able to bring you these. I finally got my catalog updated, and one of the new items in it is these stretch-lace headbands!

I have loads of different colors and widths available; check out the Color Charts page. These are custom-made to order. Measure around babies' head where the headband will sit. Or if you are unsure (or if it's a gift), let me know the age, and I can use my chart to approximate.

So soft and delicate! I love these on a new-born! I do recommend that the decoration be permanently attached to the stretch lace, not interchangeable.

The snow may not be fun to drive in, but it sure has been coming down in such a lovely way! I am not a winter lover - just too much cold, bulky clothing, kids trapped inside, passing viruses. But I can appreciate the beauty of the pure whiteness! Weren't the trees amazing this past Sunday morning! Apparently the name "Shabby Chic" is a trademarked name. huh. I always thought that was a style, like "Victorian" or "cottage" or "hip." So I guess I could be in trouble for the name of my newest creation (shh, don't tell):

Happy New Year to all of you! I'm so thankful that the holidays are over, and I can get back to housework and bows! =) What have you resolved to do this year? I am serious about getting out of debt this year. We'll see - I'm a bit of a shopaholic. =}

One of the new things I'm hoping to add this year is formed plastic headbands. I'm hoping to do both the braided kind, as well as covered (with a loop for adding bows).

Hey, all you guys that have procrastinated getting your Christmas cards ordered (like me). =} For some reason, Hubby likes to bug me about it - he is actually better at getting them done than I am. Cannot figure that one out. But, anyway, getting back to Christmas cards...

Shutterfly has a promo going through tomorrow (see, I told you I procrastinate!). If you have a blog, and are willing to do some free advertising for them (see this post??), =) you can get some free cards! Shutterfly has the most awesome cards! They have fresh, comtemporary, and have tons of really nice religious ones.

I have also been working on some Christmas presents on their site. Shh, don't tell them, but certain grandparents who took us to Disney this past year are getting a photobook of our trip (if I get it done in time! ha!). I just bet you have someone who is a bit hard to buy for; think about a photo gift! We've done mugs, mousepads, photo collages, and they are always well received. Don't forget Dad - these make great guy gifts! I know, it's not a tie or tool. He'll thank you.

Southfield Village Craft Fair

Craft fair number two is upon us! This Saturday I'll be at Southfield Village, located in South Bend on Miami Rd, in their front entry room. There is a ton of construction going on right now along Miami Rd, so here's a few hints on the best way to get there. The intersection of Miami and Kern is closed. There is access to the library by the Kern entrance (on the east side), which can be used to get to Southfield. Coming from the south will not be a problem, as the drive to Southfield is open. Coming from the north or west, plan to have a detour. =(

Little Known Fact

Did you know that I also make French Boards? It's not something in the catalog at the moment, and I don't have them on etsy. I haven't figured out how to ship something so large! =}

These boards are great for organizing bows, holding photos, memo board, not to mention being cool room decor.

They are lightweight, so they don't take much to hang on the wall. I recommend using the removeable stick-on hooks - simple and quick!

Come in a variety of fabrics, always changing (another reason they're not in the catalog). Special requests are certainly welcome!

Introducing - Another "Little Sister" Bow

Isn't it about time for a new style? I thought so. I do many, many different bows, but some of them just remain as "One-of-a-Kinds" and most of them get these big, complicated names as the style changes just slightly (Large Double Basic Bow??). shiver. Okay, so thinking up bow names is not my strong point. I'm trying to get out of my little rut of just adding on to a bow's name. =) So, here's a little darling that came about the other day. It's a smaller version of the Double Ane Bow, so naturally, I thought it's name should be "Mini Double Ane Bow." hehe! But, then I thought - the real Ane has a little sister named Jenna - perfect! =D

So, drumroll, please, for the "Jenna Bow"

These are really tiny - barely three inches across! Probably the smallest "boutique" style bow I can make. (I'm always up for a challenge, though!). This size will be perfect for newborns and petite little princesses. I'm hoping to get some model pics soon so you can see just how cute and tiny these are.

It's "Back to School" time! I have mixed emotions about that, as I love having my kids around, not having to get up so early, easy days of fun in the sun and water... Next week kind-of marks the end of summer vacation for me with my kids. Hubbie has a conference in Atlanta and I get to go with him. Summer Dress

I finally got around to making a summer dress for Diana. I'd been wanting to do some sewing for her ever since we brought her home, but never seemed to get around to it. I love sewing summer clothes, so I finally took the time to create this:

It was a lot of fun to sew! I was able to add loads of details to it - including making a ruffled edge with the double ruffled ribbon I so love! =D I'm pleased with how it turned out, and Diana loves it too! Bonus! =D lol.

This is a triple-layered rufflie bow. I wanted to use a touch of the accent colors to draw them out, so I added some korkers too.

Yes, I'm talking to myself! =) Has it really been this long with so few posts?!? Well, I guess I have a bit of an excuse. Let's see - I got through the Maple Syrup Festival, and just 2 days later became ill for about 2 1/2 weeks. Mono. Can you believe it!!! I'm just going through my adolescence again. Not good for a momma, let me tell you. Hubbie had to stay home a day and a half; that's never happened in 10 years of marriage. He did awesome, though. Kept kids together in body, at least! =) I think I was very appreciated (for a brief amount of time). It was so nice to feel good again after that!!

Then I had to hit the open house double time! So, got through that, and then kids were home for summer vacation. Whew! Finally got them settled into a routine (they now know how to entertain themselves again). =) Went on a camping trip (still doing laundry from that). This week was almost totally blank on my calender - do you know how ODD that is!! And wonderful!!!!!! It's taken me until today to finally feel like I have most things caught up, so tonight, I can spend time online with you! Thanks for waiting for me - I've missed you too! =)

I have SOO MANY things to show you! I can't wait! Keep checking back!

Open House - Give Aways Galore!

Yay! I'm back on my feet!! It feels sooo good to feel good!! I found out that I had/have mono, of all the crazy things. Thankfully, I haven't had the fatigue part (crossing fingers and praying hard). My symptoms are almost totally gone and I'm so thankful to be back in the game.

I wanted to get you all excited about coming to my open house. So I got to thinking - most of us want to know (whether we admit it or not), the answer to the question we ask ourselves about going something like this - "what's in it for me?" Well, here's what's in it for you:

Here's how it will work. At the end of the open house I will draw a name. That person gets their pick of all the items. Then I'll draw another name; that person gets the pick of what's left. And so on, until they're all gone. So, be sure to:

Ugh - the "Chin-gollies"

When we were little and got sick, my dad would say we had the "chin-gollies". Whatever those are. But they sure sound cute and innocent.

Not the "chin-gollies" that are in my body. Oh no. These are vicious little beasties, that like to hang on forEVER!!! I've been on my back for the past couple days, and off and on for the past week. Grr.... Moms just aren't supposed to get sick!! Hubby was so sweet, and stayed home yesterday to care for me and the kids, but today asked if I would be okay without him. He wanted out!!! =D Maybe I'll be more appreciated... for a day or two....

I did have a laugh this morning when I ventured downstairs for the first time in a while. Wow! I guess I really do make a difference in my home! LOL!! The first sight that greeted me was the dog nosing through little boy undies, lying scattered among several days worth of jammies. Not typical, let me tell you. At least it brought a smile to my face. The man did well keeping kids together in body (and he bought me popsicles and flowers - such a romantic!!), but there's just some things that need a momma's attention.

So, now that I've given you all probably "too much information" - on to the fun stuff!

I've been working on the open house invitations, and planning some really fun stuff! A little at a time, as much as my headache would allow - very little at a time. With my son's help, they are all stamped and ready to go! I'm getting pretty excited - hope you are too! Here's a little of what's in store to help:

Door prizes for everyone - draw a slip of paper with a prize: a discount (10,15,20% off), 1/2 off items, free bow, etc.
Drawings for great prizes - Vera Bradley purses, cooler, Usborne book, Disney t-shirts, french board, bows (of course!!!), etc. How I plan to work it is, write down your name and phone number where I can reach you right away. When it's time for the drawing, the first person I draw gets the pick of the items. Second person gets pick of what's left, and so on, until it's all gone!
I'll have a nice little spread of goodies to eat, of course! What's a get-together without food! And I love to eat, don't you!!

Come One Come All!

It's time! The Maple Syrup Festival is upon us! Hubby and I set up the tent this evening, which turned out to be quite an adventure (and just a little stressfull! Got to practice our marriage skills, though!) =O LOL!! The wind was just a bit breezy, which turns canopies into large kites! Thankfully, we had already planned on weighting it down, so were prepared.

Look for us in front of the post office. Traffic flow through town is a bit hairy- so just be prepared to walk a bit. But, it's so worth it - a friendly town, nice weather, great entertainment, bows, Haitian linens... =)

Each festival time, I have to decide what styles to focus on. It's gotten easier as I know what sells, but it's still easy for me to go overboard. I'm pretty pleased with myself for coming up with a variety of styles while trying to keep it simple. I think. After looking over my list, it seems like so many styles - but I finally decided I just couldn't leave any of these beauties out! So, here's what's on the "menu" for this year:

Cosmos - I'm hoping they'll be my "attention-grabbers"! I think it will work - they're just so darling! =)

Of course, one of my faves and one of my "signature" items - the mini korker! I sell them individually at the festival, so if you'd like to get just one, this is your chance.

And of course, I can't forget my absolute, all-time favorite!! The Rufflie bow in regular and Mini!! =)

I also have a really cool collection of local school colors in several different styles - double pinwheels, spikey bows, cheer bows, pony-o's, korkers, etc. And headbands of course.

Maple Syrup, Anyone??

I'm gearing up for the Maple Syrup Festival, here in our great little town of Wakarusa! I hope to see some of you! It shouldn't be too hard to find me - my hubby ordered a HUUUUGE bow for the top of my tent!! =O It's so sweet! We were joking around, trying to come up with some sign/eye catcher thing. He said what I really need is a giant bow for the top. Then of course, he looks online and finds one! So he was sweet enough to get one for me. It's like a gift bow - the biggest gift bow you've ever seen!! LOL!!! I think it'll be cute!

I've been going through my stash, and replenishing things. I decided to add Cosmo ribbon flowers to the selection this year, which I think will attract some attention - they're just so cute! So if you're a fan of Cosmos - come check them out!

There will be a drawing and specials, of course. So come on down to beautiful Wakarusa and have some fun! My mom is going to be there too, selling the Haitian linens!

Dates - Friday, April 16th, and Saturday, April 17th. I think it all starts up at 9 on Friday and 8 on Saturday, but I'm not positive right now, until 7 or 8 in the evenings. Guess I should ask about that, huh? =)

Princesses to the MAX!!

Does Disney know how to market or what? Wow! If only I could get kids so enthralled with my bows as well as they do with the "Princesses", "Pirates" and "Fairies"!!! LOL!! We recently took a trip to Disney World, and for the special event, I made a special bow for Diana. I was planning on her wearing it to the Princess character dinner mostly, but she loved it so much that it got worn every day we were there!

It's definitely an "over-the-top" kind of bow - not the typical, everyday bow! I was going for dramatic, and I think this accomplished that!! =D

I ordered the princess figures from an etsy seller. She does a fabulous job - so much detail and they're just so stinkin' cute! I glued them on pins, so they are removeable. That way she can use the bow for church, and the princesses on other bows, shirts, etc. Let me know if you'd like a princess - she also welcomes special requests.

Anouncing the stork's delivery of a new member of my bow style family! The Brittney Boutique Bow now has a baby sister - the "Mini Brittney" boutique bow! Made in the same pattern, just narrower ribbons for a more petite bow. Isn't she darling?!? =)

The two bows above were made with little decorative centers, available in a wide variety of shapes and colors; can be put on any bow for an additional fee.

Okay, insert sheepish grin here. I just can't get enough of the rufflies. Yes, I know I need help. Oh well, don't we all? =) Since the debut of the mini rufflie, everyone who's seen it has fallen in love with it. So I decided to take the plunge and expand the color selection. By just a few new colors....

Yay! I finally set the date for my open house! I wanted it a little closer to summer, but not before kiddos are out of school (and all things crafty tends to be put on the back burner). So, mark your calenders for May 14 and 15! There will be totally awesome give-aways (we're talking Vera Bradley, ladies!!! And of course some lovely bows and other fun surprises) - and lots of great deals!! Of course, I'll have a nice little spread of goodies - yummm!

Welcome Spring!

Who's ready for SPRING!!! I know I am!! It's my favorite season, for so many reasons: the change from winter to warmth, the excitement of watching flowers and trees budding, GREEN (This world really does have more than sepia tones!!) =), not to mention that the colors of the season are my absolute faves!! Soft pink, lavender, pale yellow, soft greens, white, coral; love, love, love them!!

Here is a OOAK (one of a kind), created while fiddling around one night. Above that - a really show-stopping bow, made with some of the new narrower double ruffle ribbon I've acquired. Don't you just love those colors?!?!?

And, just because I'm thoroughly in love with double ruffle ribbon - some Rufflies with marabou! =)

Just Having "Tutu" Much Fun!

Here's one of my favorite little models, showing us the new "Mini Rufflie" bow. She's also sporting a tutu - something in the works for down the road! I had some friends over today for a "tutu party" - we had fun chatting, chasing kids and trying to make tutus together! =) Afterwards, I rounded the girls up for a photo session. It was so cute seeing the mounds of tutus dancing around! =)

I'm so excited to introduce to you a new style! By now, I'm sure you know that Rufflies are my all-time favorite bow. I enjoyed making and using the wide double ruffle ribbon so much, that it's taken me this long to dabble in a different width and style. Well, I think this one is worth the wait - even hubby thought it was pretty cute! =)

If your little girl is anything like mine, you have a lot of "princess-y" stuff hanging around! Disney really hit a good thing making the "Princesses" into their own little cult - talk about marketing genious! =) We're planning a trip to Disney this spring, so I've been looking into adding more "Princess" to Diana's collection. Here's something I'm excited to offer to you:

Takin' a Break

Hello, Bloggy friends! After the excitement of a couple weeks ago (see the family blog), I took a little break from sitting in front of my computer searching for Haiti earthquake videos. But, I think I'm ready to jump back into the game! I have so many ideas, just waiting for me to get my act in gear, and I can't wait to show them to you. I usually work best under a deadline, and I don't have one of those right now (mixed blessing). Hmmm, anyone want to book a party? That usually gets me to wrap everything up so I can take the pictures, put it in the catalog, etc. Or, maybe I should make a list. That might work - let's see - here's an idea of what you can expect to see:

New styles to put in catalog: rufflie socks, ballerina bows, Christmas styles, button clippies,
Update color charts for: sheer rosettes, headbands (new limited editions), deluxe marabou puffs, rufflies,

Hearts for Haiti

Help for Haiti

Some of you may know, Haiti has a special place in my heart. I've been there three times, and my parents go at least once a year. We have special relationships with many of the missionaries in the city of Les Cayes, and all over the country. So, the earthquake that hit Haiti really touched me. And to make it even more personal - my parents are there right now. We thank God they are safe and well cared for, and praise Him for the e-mail connection we have been able to have. Please pray for the people of Haiti - there are no words to describe the devastation this has caused the entire country. Here's a little teaser of one of the new items I'm working on:

They are still in the development stage, as I learn the "tricks" and gather my resources. Diana gets the priviledge of being my "tester" and really seems to enjoy it! She has been tickled to have these ruffled socks, and talks about them all day long when she's wearing them! =)

I may as well throw in another "what Diana wore today" installment while I'm at it! =) Don't you just love it when parent's brag about their kids?? =) This is one of my favorite Gymboree lines from a while back. I love lavender and navy together. The socks actually go better with the other items from that collection, but oh well. Her hair is in a new style now - it's getting so long! Now it can all sweep up into a pony - makes her so grown up looking!

I'm finally getting around to posting about some newer products! Here's some little cuties that were a huge hit at the craft fairs!

These are my "Button Clippies" - made with stitched ribbon and a button. Nothing fancy - just simple and sweet!

Happy new year to you all! I hope your Christmas was a blessed one for everyone, and I send you my best wishes for the new year! I hope it is filled with happy moments with family and friends! We had a wonderful Christmas season, filled with lots of fun! But, I'm looking forward to the kids being back in school, so I can get my house and schedule back in order! =}

I always look forward to January as a time to delve into projects that haven't seen the light of day for a while. So, this winter I'm looking forward to new and exciting things - new products, new crafts. And maybe some old, but still exciting things, like scrapbooking (thinking of going digital - anyone done that??) and cards!

What do you plan to do to keep the "winter blues" away? I'd love to hear what's your favorite thing to do while cooped up inside all winter long.
