mystery hostess winner

The party last night was a lot of fun! The winner of the hostess benefits drawing was Jen Hunsberger. Congratulations, Jen!

Thanks also to Mom for being my hospitality coordinator, and keeping the food side running smoothly - you sure helped my stress level, Mom! =)

Just a Reminder...

Okay, time is ticking away until my bow party, and so are your chances to earn a drawing entry by "R.S.V.P'ing"! So, all you procrastinators, pick up your phone or send me an e-mail soon! =)

New Marabou Color

I've been wishing I could find a deeper red color of marabou, so when I happened across this burgundy, I was very excited:Just in time for Christmas too! It looks really nice with the mini poinsettias that I made up.

Rufflie Bows

There's sure to be some "oooh's" and "ahhh's" over these bows! Wow! Are they cute or what!?! The ribbon for these is a bit hard to find, so these are treasures! That also means the color selection is limited too. These are the colors I have on hand:
From top left - pink, coral rose pink, lavender, light pink and cream. I'm working on getting more, so let me know if there's a color you'd like to see!

It's a party!

By now, most of you should have received an invitation to my up-coming bow party! It's coming up fast - next Tuesday (the 25th) at 7:00. I'm excited about offering quite a few Christmas bows - and of course all my new styles will be making their debut! This is the perfect time to special order bows for the holidays too - so bring along those special outfits!
This party will be a lot of fun - especially for one lucky person who will walk away with the hostess benefits! Since I don't really need them =) - we'll be doing a drawing for them. Multiple entries can be earned by RSVP'ing (to come), bringing a friend, first to arrive, and more. I've also got a couple other things up my sleeves that should be fun...

Is this "princess" or what?

Here's another brand new style! This one seemed to say "princess" to me:

I think this one is just gorgeous! I'd love to see it on a baby's head! It's made with two layers of sheer ribbon, with a satin rosette in the center. The only issue I have with this one is how to seal the ends. I can't use the flame, because the ribbon just curls up, and the fray-check leaves a white line. I think a wood-burning tool would work, just haven't tried it yet. I'm also thinking of marabou behind this one - I'll definitely have to try that! =)

New styles!! =)

I was thinking about ways to re-design the butterfly bows, since I don't really like them anymore. So, today I took some of them and ripped them apart, then rebuilt them. I made some of them into double pinwheels, then got adventurous! I had fun with these! First I put a mini korker on top of them: I'm really liking these! I think they're great - they combine two of my absolute favorites - pinwheels and korkers.

Then I ran out of color scheme ideas with the korkers, so I turned to my wider ribbon:
These are made with the pinwheel base, and a basic medium bow on top. I used a wider ribbon than usual for the rosette - I really like the effect!
Of course, the next thing to do is give these little beauties names. And, since I'm still working through my neices names, these are called - the "Laisa Bow" (top) and "Lily Bow" (bottom). Perfect, since they are sisters and the bows are kind of related in style! =)

Kaitlyn

Here's a picture of my cousin Becky's family, showing Kaitlyn wearing a "loopy bow":
Thanks for the pic, Becky! Keep 'em coming! =)

I've been working on updating my etsy site, so there's lots of new things listed, and more to come! New pictures, too - so check it out! Just click on the pictures on the side bar to be taken right to my store.
Here's one of the Christmas items I'm working on. I have these in this black, silver, brown, blue and red - and a purple poinsettia.

show off your cutie!

Just wanted to mention - I love to see my hair bows in action! If any of you want to send me pictures of your little sweeties wearing my creations, I'll post them on the blog. If you don't want them posted, just let me know - I'd still like to see them. Any old snapshot it fine! Here's one of Diana to get the ball rolling:
I love this photo, because it's her first tea party! And she did it all herself! With boys, I knew there were certain things they didn't need to be taught, like how to make amazing sound effects, and how to play with trucks and tools. Now I'm learning about girls - I guess she was born with "princess" genes! She puts her toys of choice in a basket, and hauls them to these steps. She had it all set up by herself. I came over for a "spot o' tea" too, of course!

second craft fair

The fair is over, the van is unloaded, the mommy is tired.

I'm glad the big push is over, now I can recup a little and get back to being a wife and mother. Now that I have a good stock of items, the catalogs are updated, and I know the setting up/packing up routine better, I'm sure the next show will be a breeze! =)

I'm really excited about the American Girls Tea Party! I think it will be a great place for selling bows! Hoping to get some parties booked too. It's coming up in two weeks - November 22. Put it on you calenders!!

Craft Fair at the Feast

My second craft fair is upon us! I'm packed up, the van is loaded, just wrapping up a few loose ends. Hope to see some of you tomorrow - it's at the Feast banquet facility (where Kara had her reception), on the corner of 31 and Pierce (the Potato Creek road). I add those little landmarks for us females. =) It's from 9-3. Anyone still around at the end will get a special gift - if they help me load up! =) (just kidding!)

I'll have another drawing basket. Here's the one for this time:

So, come check out the sights, and put your name in for the drawing! See you there!

photo shoot

Diana did some modeling for me today, and I just had to share them with you all!

Here she is showing off the Loopy Bow (still has it's original name!). Which reminds me, I never did announce what I decided to call the two bows whose names were under discussion. Popular opinion said I should call the new one by a girl's name, so the new bow is now the "Diana bow"! Thanks for all your great ideas - especially Melisa- who caused me to realize that bow really did fit my daughter's personality! =)

This is one of those bows that, until you see it on a little girl's head, it can't be fully appreciated! I fell in love with this bow, which is called a "sheer rosette". I love this one for it's airiness, shimmer, and pure sweetness. What do you think?

First Craft Fair!

What a day! Mom, Bethany and I had our booths all in a row, so we had a lot of fun talking and laughing. I passed out a bunch of business cards, and had a great time talking with people.
The visitors were very fun to interact with - and I loved helping them pick out their new accessories! Here's what Lily picked out. =)

It was a tiring, but good day. Sales were okay, but the learning experience was great!

So, now thoughts turn to next Saturday's craft fair, and the Feast on 31 and Pierce (the Potato Creek road) near Lakeville. Come see me there!
