Ireland spent a couple days at our house, and loved looking through the ribbons and bows. She designed her own bow - isn't it cute? This is a medium basic bow with korkers on top - close to the "Christie Bow", but without the spikes.

Make it Yours!

If you're like me, you like things with a great value. Well, I have an idea to make your bows an even better value - interchanging them! Here's what I mean:

Here's a basic large pinwheel and a small pinwheel. Very cute by themselves, and very popular, multi-purpose bows.

But, put them together: Instant double pinwheel! This can be done by sliding the alligator clip through the center ribbon.

Here's some more examples of other possible combinations:

Here's a Large Gracie Bow, Medium Gracie Bow and yellow mum flower. Cute and fun by themselves.

But together, something extra special! Perfect by themselves for everyday, then interchangeable for special occasions!

Here's my newest style, the "tailored bow" with a sheer rosette and a rose flower.

Now, here's those bows in combination:

These interchanges can be done using any of my bows that has a flat center ribbon, like on a pinwheel (not a knotted "rosebud" like on the basic bows), as the bottom bow, and any bow of your choice on an alligator clip on top. Let me know what you come up with!

Diana did some modeling for me today, and I just had to share them with you all!

Here she is showing off the Loopy Bow (still has it's original name!). Which reminds me, I never did announce what I decided to call the two bows whose names were under discussion. Popular opinion said I should call the new one by a girl's name, so the new bow is now the "Diana bow"! Thanks for all your great ideas - especially Melisa- who caused me to realize that bow really did fit my daughter's personality! =)

This is one of those bows that, until you see it on a little girl's head, it can't be fully appreciated! I fell in love with this bow, which is called a "sheer rosette". I love this one for it's airiness, shimmer, and pure sweetness. What do you think?

New Inspirations

I've been absent from blogging, but not from bow-making. Except for this past week; I've been keeping the house just above the "can't-stand-it-anymore" level for a while, so it was time to give it a good cleaning. And what a great reason to clean - Tim and Melisa and their crew spent the night with us Saturday. It was great!

But, getting back to bows - I had a couple new things that I just hadn't blogged about yet, and a couple new inspirations.

Here's the first inspiration:

It's a sheer rosette. I'm really liking these! Sometimes I'm not too sure about something, so I'll go try it on Diana, and then I'll love it. This was one of those. I think they're a great holiday addition. Right now I have them in pink, lavender, black, wine, olive, and gold. Soon to come are ivory, brown, white and plum. I even created a boutique bow with these, on a velvet and satin bow. I'll have to get a picture of that on Diana later.

So, now for the newest additions. Yesterday I was sitting behind little Gracie in church, and kept staring at her bow. Yes, I was contemplating the sermon, too - just doing a little multi-tasking in the in-between moments! =) I studied it for a while, and thought maybe it would be a good addition to the collection. I'm trying to build up many varieties for the catalog, so I keep my eyes out for new styles. I did a little searching last night, and found the directions for it. So, here it is - the "Gracie Bow":

They're a little trickier to get the hang of. I definitely need more practise - these are a little uneven, and they aren't even the first ones! =}
