This makes me think of an orchard. Apples in every color - red, green, yellow, hints of orange and pink. What's your favorite variety? I love cortlands for cooking, honeycrisp and pink lady for eating. Yum!!

Back To School

It's "Back to School" time! I have mixed emotions about that, as I love having my kids around, not having to get up so early, easy days of fun in the sun and water... But, I'm looking forward to getting some peace and quiet, grocery shopping solo, maybe working on some projects around the house and craft room...

Next week kind-of marks the end of summer vacation for me with my kids. Hubbie has a conference in Atlanta and I get to go with him. Kids will stay at the Grandmas' homes, which means I'll get a real vacation - sitting around a pool, meandering through shopping areas, eating in nice restaurants. Really looking forward to that!!

November 14 at Jimtown High School in Elkhart, from 9-2.

I love when I get to greet my previous customers and make new ones! There's always craft fair specials and a drawing too!

On Another Note

Please pray that I get to feeling better soon! (Like, yesterday!) I've been battling the H1N1 for over 2 weeks, and now probably have some sort of bacterial thing going on. Fever, cough, congestion... At least I can swallow again! My family needs their mommy back - and I have too many things coming up now!! =(

Crunch Time

Growing up, there was a moment while we were getting the house ready for company that my mom would say, "put it in high gear" and/or "it's crunch time". Well, that's where I'm at now. Actually, I'm feeling quite calm, but maybe I shouldn't. I feel like I've got so much done so far this week, that whatever I have left to do surely won't be a problem. Here's an idea of what's going on:

• Go through bows, make sure I have nice assortment of colors in each style
• Set up table and gridwalls, organize displays
• Put together the basket for the drawing
• Spray paint some baskets to look nice as display containers
• Print labels and signs
• Print out plenty of order forms and catalogs
• Gather everything I'll need tomorrow (FOOD, calculator, snacks, bags, caffeinated drinks, etc.) =0

I'll be packing it all up and hauling it over to the fair tonight. I'm so glad we get to set up the day before, since I don't really know how long it'll take me yet.

I hope you'll stop by and see me - and Mom - tomorrow. The craft fair is at Southfield Retirement Community in the Assisted Living front hall. It's from 9-3. See you then!

New etsy listings

I just updated my etsy site with lots of new fall things! I also signed up for a "showcase" slot, which means on a certain day, some of my items will be featured on the front page of whichever section is signed up for. I signed up for October 5th on the children's page. I'm excited to see what happens! So, be sure you check out the etsy site in a couple weeks (next Sunday was already full)!

the big day

Today's the day! My first "Bow Show" is tonight! I'm really excited, and a little nervous. I've got a bunch of things I need to do yet, so this will be short. Here's a sneak preview of what's going to be debuting at the show tonight:

New headband colors for fall! I really like them, even though I was hoping for darker colors with the top row. I'm going to try again for Christmas with a different dye and see what happens. I'm really liking the gray too.

New marabou colors too! There's sage, plum, burnt orange, black, purple and brown. I really like the plum. It also has a flower to match:
I made bows in all my "specialty" bow styles to match the headbands, as examples. I was pleased with how it shows off the headbands. Here's a sample:
Well, that's all I've got time for now. Jenna said she's got at least 10 people coming, with 7 more maybes - I need to make some more catalogs!! Definitely not complaining! She even has a booking already! Wow! (she told me matter-of-factly that "she knows how to do parties!) =)
